Causes of Forgetfulness

Forgetting means failure at any time to recall an experience when attempting to do so or to perform an action previously learned. Forgetting is failing to retain or able to recall what has been acquired —James Dreyeunnr. Forgetting not bad as already discussed we come across various kinds of experiences every day. In fact every minute we get many impressions about many things. It is not possible for us to remember everything for all times. It is essential for us to forget a lot everyday. To remember well we must forget a great deal. We forget to remember more. We must remember only selective things out of many things we come across. We must remember only those impressions which concern us most. Out of many impressions we get, it is better for us to remember only relative facts which are more useful and which are more, beneficial for us and therefore, it is really advantageous to forget less useful, less relative and less significant facts. Many incidents in life are very painful and very disagreeable. Our life would have been a hell if we could not forget the same. Sometimes forgetfulness comes to our rescue in the form of mental mechanism. Even then it comes to help us although in a wrong way.

Out of the listeners the sportsman will remember news about sports but it will forget most of the news about market rates but on the contrary a businessman will remember the rates of commodities more readily and will not forget them for a long lime.
